Breaking the Cycle
Prevention vs. Detention through Intervention
Purpose: Implement strategies to avert delinquent behavior by at-risk youth using a multi-faceted approach of in-house programs and collaboration with existing resources.
Goals
- Reduce referrals and suspensions at school.
- Reduce delinquency.
- Keep children out of the juvenile justice system!
Implementation
- Foster self-esteem amongst participants.
- Encourage good decision making.
- Teach children to resist negative peer influences.
- Teach strategies to avoid precarious situations.
- Track and analyze data in order to measure outcomes.
Projected Outcomes
- Participants will see improved social and life skills.
- Participants will be supported in healthy development.
- Participants will see improved performance in school.
- Participants will avoid committing crimes and infractions.
- Participants will avoid detention.
- Participants will stay out of the Criminal Justice system.
